Competition for the best environmentally friendly university

Beni Suef University receives the evaluation committee for the Best Environmentally Friendly University competition
Under the patronage of His Excellency Minister Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the university received today, Monday, July 8, 2024, the evaluation committee for the Best Environmentally Friendly University competition affiliated to the Supreme Council of Universities, under the supervision and presence of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Sameh Al-Maraghi, Vice President of University for Community service and environmental development Sector.
Today, the College of Earth Science was honored under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Gaid, Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Safia Muhammad, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, Prof. Dr. Fathi Abu Al-Saud, Head of the Department of Water Geology and Environment, in the presence of:
Prof. Dr. Sama Al-Daq, Director of International Classification and Sustainable Development Office
The committee was formed under the chairmanship of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sami, Vice President of Cairo University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and membership of Dr. Prof. Ahmed Abdel Mageed at the Institute of Environmental Sanitary Engineering, Engineer / Essam Al-Sayed Abdel Fattah, Director of the Solar Energy Department, and Engineer / Effat Mohamed Farhat, Head of the North Upper Egypt Sector for Environmental Affairs.
His Excellency the University President explained that the competition aims to reach the best Egyptian green university by measuring the extent of the participating universities’ commitment to developing environmentally friendly infrastructure, pointing out that the competition depends on a number of standards, the most important of which are environmental preservation and sustainability, as well as standards for learning and scientific research. The university’s infrastructure, energy and climate change standards, waste management, and water management, in addition to transportation standards within the university, and environmental quality.
The committee visited the college’s laboratories and presented the environmental and community services provided by the laboratories (water and environmental biology laboratory, engineering geology laboratory, and mineral wealth laboratory) in the college and presented the services provided by our latest equipment and the work team of faculty members and supporting staff.
